Pre-School Aftercare Update!
!WELCOME BACK! A warm welcome/welcome back to Pre-School Aftercare! We are delighted to have your child in our program and look forward to "Learning to Love , and Loving to Learn" together!
August and September were a great beginning. Good manners and following directions were our themes. We played games suchas Simon Says, Let's GO Out to Dinner, Sharing Stars and others to help us practice these skills. We had a great time playing outside and relaxing as we listened to stories. Our favorite snacks were graham crackers with peanut butter, goldfish with grapes, and a special treat... Brownies!
October is here! The Aftercare staff is thrilled to be joined by Kristin Rowan, who will work with the Pre-School age group. Kristin is a senior at UTC majoring in education. She grew up in Soddy Daisy, has experience in day-care, and is a baby-sitter extraordinaire. Miss Kristin is very active at Red Bank Baptist. We welcome Miss Kristin!
Claudia Howard returns as Coordinator of Pre-School Aftercare. She has many years experience teaching K-2, pre-school, church choir, and Christian Education for Birth - 6th grade. She served as Director of Children's ministry for over 900 churches for the United Methodist Church Holston Conference. Miss Claudia has 2 wonderful daughters - Miss Allison (who works at St Peter's) and Lisa, who is a sophomore at
Returning to our Aftercare Staff are: Alex Pirkle, who has worked at St Peter's Aftercare for two years and serves as College & Career Director at St Peter's Church. Allison Howard, who has worked at St Peter's for five years and at Red Bank United Methodist church in Youth Ministry for five years. Meghan McDowell, who is a sophomore at Chattanooga State majoring in Art Education. Meghan is our resident crafts expert! She attends Hixson United Methodist wehre she is very active in music ministry. Last but not least is Mary Wright, our Aftercare Program Director. Mary has been at St Peter's for fifteen years and has extensive, varied training in Elementary Day Care Education. Ms Mary is a native of Chattanooga and attends Christ Family Church. Also, be on the lookout this Fall for "Awesome Art Projects!" coming home, courtesy of Miss Meghan, and not to mention, a Surprise Pumpkin Hunt! Again, we are so glad your child is part of Aftercare! We are only a call away if you have any questions or concerns! Remember, classes are dismissed Thursday, October 6 at 12:00 for fall break. Classes resume on Tuesday, October 11. *SPECIAL REMINDER* -Please put names on EVERYTHING!!! Many times students don't recognize their own things. Identifying 20 backpacks and lunchboxes WITHOUT names can be a problem. Thank You in advance!-
