Merry Christmas to Everyone! This will be a rather short month for us and excitement abounds, but we are still working hard at staying focused on school.
Language Arts: We are finishing up our third big book and moving on to "By the Sea." This should be a fun unit for us! We will be working on blending sounds to make words,things we do at the seashore, reviewing and writing letters and their sounds.
Math: Our new math material for December is geoboards. The children love making shapes on the geoboards. We will also be learning about cubes. Patterns and graphing are continuing concepts we practice all during the year.
Science: We will be continuing out unit on weather, with an in-house field trip on wacky weather from the Creative Discovery Museum.
Geography: We will be leaving Africa and moving north to Europe. We will be talking about the different Christmas traditions from the European countries.
Art and Music: This month we will be concentrating on Christmas projects and songs.
