February Fun

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!

Language Arts:  We are finishing up Unit 5 and moving on to Unit 6, "My Shadow".  We will learn about the three things required to make a shadow, and all the places we can find shadows.  We will also continue learning the short sounds of vowels, and putting all the sounds together to make words.  We will also learn about descriptive words (adjectives) and the different kinds of sentences.

Math:  We will continue learning about dimes and counting by tens, counting on (adding), and covering designs in different ways with pattern blocks.  We will also cover the numerals 11-20.

Science:  The unit for February is magnets. We will be learning about all the different ways we can use magnets.

Geography:  The continent for this month is Europe.  If anyone has traveled to Europe and has any information to share, please let us know.

Art:  Beginning sculptures, two and three dimensions, Valentine's Day projects, aution project, etc.

Music:  We will begin to work on our play for March, sing some Valentine and President songs, and use movement in our songs.
