WELCOME TO FIRST GRADE!

Welcome To Mrs. Scoville's

First Grade

MRS. SCOVILLE'S CLASS OF 2008-2009

Mrs. Scoville's First Grade 2008-2009

The first graders have been studying different types of lines this quarter.  The students created drawings of animals using simple lines by using black crayons on white paper.

In Social Studies this quarter, the First Graders are studying Life in the Last Ice Age.  The students will be creating their own cave drawings.  The drawings will be on display in the library or you can see a sample of their creations below.

Mrs.Scoville and her students studied geometric shapes for their art classes during the month of October.  The Shape Quilt is a result of the students hard work.  Come by and look at this beautiful creation on display in the hallway outside of the classroom.

Next month in Social Studies, Mrs. Scoville's class will learn about the early settlers and the pilgrims.  Additionally, the students will be working with color in the art classes for the month.  Check back to see a sample of the student's art work.

A thought to leave you with:

You may have tangible wealth untold; Caskets of jewels and coffers of gold.

Richer than I you can never be – I had a mother who read to me.

Strickland Gillilan, American writer, 1869 – 1954
