3...2...1...Blast Off!

**new pictures coming soon
What's New?
We are having a great time in science right now! We are learning about all kinds of animals, what they need to survive, where they live, and more! We have just completed a project focused on adaptations. Your child focused on a specific animal and studied what adaptations that animal uses to survive. Our next project is focused on food chains and food webs. The students will create a food chain that includes the animal they are studying. We will then see where the food chains connect to make a web. We will also be studying the energy pyramid and what happens when one level is missing. We will wrap up our animal unit after studying the different habitats these animals inhabit and creating a model of the habitats.
In Math, we are working on new concepts everyday. We are also working on mastering multiplication facts. As you know, this is a hard concept and cannot be mastered simply by what we do in class. If you practice your multiplication facts every night for about 10 minutes, I am sure you will see a difference!
Please check out Mrs. Schlosser's site to get updates on Language Arts and History. She has some pictures of recent projects on her site as well as great tips for improving writing skills.

Have you been practicing your multiplication facts? We will become masters of multiplication this year. We will practice our facts by singing multiplication songs, playing games, and doing drills.
