Little did Bailey Norman know that while attending St. Peter’s School and attending chapel, he would one day be leading chapel for others. After leaving St. Peter’s in the sixth grade, Bailey went to McCallie and then onto Sewanee (University of the South). It was there that Bailey felt a strong calling to the Episcopal Church and to the priesthood.
After graduating from the Virginia Theological Seminary, Bailey was ordained a deacon and recently joined St. Stephen’s Episcopal Parish in Oak Ridge as Assistant to the Rector. Shortly after joining St. Stephen's, Bailey was ordained into the priesthood.
Reflecting on his days at St. Peter’s School, Bailey is proud of the solid education he received here. He says, “I truly felt that the teachers were there to educate the mind, body and soul. While academics were important, physical and spiritual growth were also emphasized.”
