WHAT IS ADVANCEMENT?

Advancement covers all areas pertaining to just that, the advancement of the school.  This includes public relations, communications, fund raising, alumni relations, marketing and admissions.  Please click on the other pages in this section for more information about these topics and the latest news!

WAYS OF GIVING

We are grateful to the many families, grandparents, alumni, friends and businesses who make gifts to Saint Peter's Episcopal School.  Your gift contributes to our legacy of excellence in education.  Gifts to St. Peter's School may be made in the following ways:

• Gifts of Cash
  Gifts of cash, checks or credit cards are welcome.
  
  
• Corporate Matching Gifts
  Your gift can go further! You can double or triple your gift if you and/or your spouse work for a matching gift employer.  Simply request a matching gift form from your company's human resources or charitable giving/grants department.  The Development Office has facilitated many of these gifts in the past and can also help you with this process.  The following local companies have made matching gifts to St. Peter's School in the past:
  Archer Daniels Midland Company, Cingular Wireless, Merrill Lynch, Novartis Pharmaceuticals, Regions Financial Corporation and Unum.
  
  
• Gifts of Stock
  Gifts of stock are an excellent way to make a gift to St. Peter's School.  In many cases, donors are able to donate shares of stock and make a substantial gift to the school and not incur a substantial tax debt.  Donors are entitled to an income tax charitable deduction for the full fair market value of appreciated securities (provided they have been held for one year).  Also, no capital gains taxes are paid on the stock transfer.
  
  
• In-Kind Gifts
  Donations of equipment, furniture and teaching aids relevant to our educational program and in good condition are welcome.  Please download the in-kind donation form and mail or drop a copy by the Development Office so that we may acknowledge this gift in our Annual Report. (The donor determines the fair market value of the gift for tax purposes).
  
  
• Honorarium and Memorial Gifts
  
  
• Planned Giving
  Planned giving, or deferred giving, allows almost any individual to provide a gift to the school while carrying our personal financial goals.  Through planned giving, donors may find they are able to make a more generous gift to St. Peter's Episcopal School while receiving financial benefits such as tax savings, avoidance of capital gains tax and reduced estate-settlement costs. 
  Please notify the school if you have already included, or plan to include, the school in your estate plans.  By making provisision in your will, you make a gift to the future of St. Peter's School.
  As planned gifts and some forms of current gifts can be complicated and carry significant tax benefits, donors are encouraged to consult the Development Office and their own financial planner.
