Chronological Timeline of St. Peter's Episcopal School History

1966: St Peter's Episcopal School starts as a preschool and kindergarten program.

1983: The school expands its program to include a grade school.

1988: The first sixth grade class graduates. 

2001: St. Peter's discontinues it's sixth grade program in response to a community wide restructuring of the public school system that moved sixth grades into a middle school environment. 

2003: St. Peter's Episcopal School and St. Peter's Episcopal Church undertake a $2.5 million capital campaign to build a new building to accommodate a rapidly growing student body. 

2004: St Peter's receives its first SACS accreditation.

2005: St Peter's celebrates the opening of its new facility.

2011: St. Peter's purchases a large block of land adjacent to its property, which extends the campus to approximately 12 acres.

2013: St Peter's pilots a Spanish Immersion program with the preschool 3s class.

2014: St Peter's partners with Add.a.Lingua 

2016-17: The Unlocking the Future Campaign retires the $1 million building loan 

2017-18: House Systems, S.T.O.R.M. Program launched, Dedication of Margaret's Garden.

2018-19: Expands pre-school program, adding additional 3-Year-Old Classic classroom.

2019-20: Renovation of kitchen and Warren Hall, Pandemic (Spring 2020) closes campus. Students move to Distance Learning.

2020-21: Responsive School Plan: Reopening Campus during a pandemic Trailwise Program extends to include all students, even preschoolers, addition of full-time gardening teacher.

2021-22: First graduating class of Spanish Immersion Program.

2022-23: Implementation of the iStorm FaB Lab.

2023-24: Implementation of Responsive Classroom & Aventuras.
